Smoked Kebab Recipe 🍢🔥
Smoked kebabs are juicy, flavorful skewers of marinated meat, grilled to perfection with a smoky aroma. This method gives a restaurant-style smoky taste at home!
Ingredients:
For the Kebab Marinade:
- 500g minced meat (beef or lamb, or a mix)
- 1 small onion, finely grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp ground coriander
- ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp yogurt (for tenderness)
For the Smoky Flavor:
- 1 small piece of charcoal
- 1 tsp butter or oil
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Kebab Mixture:
- In a bowl, mix minced meat, grated onion, garlic, and spices.
- Add parsley, olive oil, and yogurt. Mix well and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
2. Shape the Kebabs:
- Wet your hands with water and shape the meat mixture onto skewers.
- If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
3. Smoke the Kebabs (Dum Method):
- Heat a small piece of charcoal until red hot.
- Place a small metal bowl in the center of the kebab mixture.
- Put the hot charcoal inside, drizzle 1 tsp butter or oil over it, and immediately cover with a lid.
- Let it smoke for 5 minutes for an intense flavor.
4. Grill the Kebabs:
- Heat a grill pan or BBQ grill over medium-high heat.
- Cook the kebabs for 4-5 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through.
5. Serve & Enjoy:
- Serve hot with pita bread, tahini sauce, and fresh salad.
