Chicken breasts with lemon, garlic and butter sauce

Here’s a simple and delicious Chicken Breast with Lemon, Garlic, and Butter Sauce recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 1 lemon)
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (or a mix of thyme, oregano, and basil)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon slices (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
    • Pat chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
    • If the breasts are thick, pound them to an even thickness for even cooking.
  2. Sear the Chicken:
    • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
    • Cook the chicken for about 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked (internal temp 165°F / 75°C).
    • Remove from pan and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce:
    • Lower the heat and add butter to the same pan.
    • Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Pour in chicken broth and stir, scraping up any browned bits.
    • Add lemon juice, zest, and red pepper flakes (if using).
    • Simmer for 2-3 minutes to let the flavors blend.
  4. Finish the Dish:
    • Return the chicken to the pan, spoon the sauce over it, and cook for 1-2 more minutes.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon slices.
  5. Serve & Enjoy!
    • Serve with rice, pasta, or vegetables.
