How to make meat with peas

Making meat with peas is a delicious and easy dish! Here’s a simple recipe for a hearty meat and pea stew:

Ingredients meat with peas:

  • 500g (1 lb) beef, lamb, or chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup green peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped (or 1/2 cup canned tomatoes)
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste (optional)
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • 1 tsp cumin (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups beef or chicken broth (or water)
  • 1 bay leaf (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Sauté the Onion & Garlic:
    Heat the olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft and golden. Stir in the garlic and cook for another minute.
  2. Brown the Meat:
    Add the meat to the pot and cook until browned on all sides.
  3. Add Tomatoes & Spices:
    Stir in the chopped tomatoes and tomato paste. Add paprika, cumin, black pepper, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes until the tomatoes break down.
  4. Simmer:
    Pour in the broth (or water), add the bay leaf, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 30-40 minutes (for chicken) or 1-1.5 hours (for beef or lamb) until the meat is tender.
  5. Add the Peas:
    Stir in the green peas and cook for another 10 minutes until they are tender.
  6. Serve:
    Remove the bay leaf, check for seasoning, and serve hot with rice, mashed potatoes, or bread.
